Privacy at Solograd

Last updated: 1 November 2026

Solograd is a browser-based workspace for independent study. This notice explains how the application uses information.

Your account and workspace

Creating an account stores your name, email, password hash, birthday, country, and any study status or university you provide. The server stores your modules, course progress, notes, todos, uploaded books, and study sessions so you can return to them. Passwords are hashed rather than stored as readable text.

Password recovery

If you request a password reset, Solograd sends a one-time code to your account email through Brevo. Brevo processes the recipient address and message content for delivery. Codes expire after 10 minutes; pending delivery copies are encrypted and removed after sending or expiry. A successful reset changes your password, revokes previous sign-in sessions, and queues a confirmation email. Codes and passwords are not placed in browser URLs or offline queues.

Community profiles and chats

Your name, optional bio, and follower/following connections are visible to signed-in members. Signup includes a choice to share module titles and YouTube courses on your profile; change it in Settings at any time. Existing accounts keep study sharing off until they enable it. Notes, todos, uploaded books and filenames, completion, study sessions, email, birthday, country, and university do not appear on member profiles.

Each YouTube video and playlist has a shared text-and-emoji chat. Messages and author names are visible to all signed-in members with the room link. Authors can delete their own message text. Members can report another member’s message for operator review; reports store a category, message reference, reporter, and timestamp. Deleting your account removes your messages, follows, and associated reports. Deleting a module does not delete the shared conversation.

Public course information

Solograd uses YouTube API Services to retrieve public video and playlist information. Public course metadata is cached and can be reused when another learner imports the same course. Your notes, progress, files, and account details are never included in that shared catalog. Metadata is refreshed periodically; expired titles and descriptions are removed when they cannot be refreshed.

Your use of YouTube is also governed by the Google Privacy Policy and YouTube Terms of Service. Solograd does not ask for access to your Google account. The optional embedded player connects to YouTube when you choose to load it. Opening the original video takes you to YouTube. YouTube operates separately in both cases.

Browser storage

The application keeps your sign-in token in session storage. Demo mode stores its example workspace in local storage and uploaded demo books in IndexedDB on your device. Signing out removes the session token. Clearing your browser’s site data removes demo content.

If you install Solograd on your Home Screen, its service worker caches public app files, fonts, and icons so the app shell can open offline. It does not cache private API responses or queue offline changes. Account features and videos require an internet connection. You can remove the cached files through your browser’s site-data settings.

Retention and control

You can edit and delete individual workspace records, export your study data in Settings, and download your books. You can edit your bio and study-sharing choice in Settings, and follow or unfollow other members from their profiles. Chat messages are not part of the study-data JSON export. Deleting a module removes its courses, notes, files, and study history. You can delete your account from Settings. Operational backups may retain deleted records until the server’s backup rotation removes them.

Hosting

The server uses operational request logs for maintenance and abuse prevention. This website includes no third-party advertising or analytics scripts. Fonts are served with the website and application. Your hosting operator manages server access and backups.
